The refined Artemide Tolomeo collection consists of wall lamps, hanging lamps and floor lamps. All models have the same features and based on the timeless Tolomeo desk lamp, to offer fans of design objects several variations with regard to the type of power, size and coating. The versions with longer metallic arms are more suitable for longer periods of use, such as the Tolomeo wall lamp with a swivel arm. The same basic features are found in the slim line floor lamp, available in a number of finishes to meet individual tastes and add a personal touch to the home. The range of Tolomeo wall lamps includes several spotlights, in neat, bold shapes, and the Tolomeo Diffuser wall lamps, characterised by an original plastic structure covered by diffusers in satin or parchment. The collection also includes a number ceiling lamps: ideal for use in the kitchen or for original bathroom lighting. The decentralised version of the hanging lamp is one example, as the arm allows the light beam to be directed as required, without diminishing the class and iconic style of the collection. The Tolomeo hanging lamp with two arms, available in three types of aluminium finish, will assure a high level of style and sheer elegance in the living room, common areas or office environments. The two arms branch off from a single pole, for stylish, practical elegance.
The Artemide products included in the Tizio collection are geometrically linear and have a wide extension within an area, complementary to any modern or designer interior. Take for example the Tizio X30 lamp, fruit of Richard Sapper's creativity, launched in 2008 it remains the spearhead of the range to which it has given its name. Reaching a height of 66 cm, in polished aluminium and in bright, anodised aluminium with the details of each separate part finished in chrome. Its shape makes it a versatile accessory, ideal for lighting different interiors within a contemporary style home. It is also perfectly suited to more formal contexts such as studios or workspaces. The Tizio model represents the point of departure for this collection and was created and manufactured by the designer in three different colourways originally in 1972.
The versions named Tizio Plus are available in black both for the table and for the floor lamp. The head of the lamp allows further and greater mobility due to its ability to the direct the light beam in a diagonal direction. The cylindrical base that supports the floor lamp from this collection helps thrust upwards the upper structure giving the item its well-defined harmony and essential lines.
The Tizio 35 lamp comes in the chromatic range of aluminium grey, white and black. While the purpose of Tizio Micro is to enrich a desktop or dresser. Its height has been reduced to a mere 43 cm and it is available in four colours: white, black, polished chrome, and silver, colours, which will match any scheme in the surrounding interior. The design of Tizio LED offers an alternative to the halogen light versions; it also comes as a floor light and is notable for its long-lasting low energy consumption characteristics.
The care and research that have gone into the light together with the quality polycarbonate materials are defining features creating the gently flexible movement and the aesthetic lines of this collection of lamps from the Artemide brand.
The counter weights that hold the two arms connected to the reflector are a lively addition to the object adding functionality and practically to the excellence of its design. The light beam can be oriented by positioning the head in the desired direction according to need. Its pared down style is perfectly suited to a contemporary style of furnishing, the various models of the Tizio collection stand out for their details and chrome finishes, which highlight their simple and elegant lines. Each one of these accessories, produced within this series of Artemide products, is exclusive and finished down to the smallest detail adding dynamism and function to their surroundings.

The Talo collection is made up of a range of hanging lamps and wall lights created by Neil Poulton for Artemide. Once again, Artemide proves itself a manufacturer of top design products, which are perfectly adapted to the commonplace needs of daily life but with a touch of elegance and functionality. Poulton's vision fits in perfectly with the Artemide company mission, his desire is to create items for everyday use which can be mass produced yet retain a certain spirit: products that are simple and linear that disguise the use of the best technological developments. So hence Talo; it is not just a lamp it can be described as an entire lighting system, which can be adapted to provide light for interiors of any dimension. The Talo wall lamps perfectly complement any type of furnishings, fitting in seamlessly; they work beautifully in a long corridor or as stair lights given their linear design. This is a lighting system that can be used within the home, for example above a dining table but the office environment, regardless of size, is most certainly their perfect setting. The Talo wall lights consist of a die-cast aluminium ellipse coated in the colour of your choice: white or alternatively in metallic tones from chrome to gold. The hanging lamp version consists of a linear body in aluminium while the sides of the "tube" are closed with specially formed semi-circular fittings. The lamps are suspended from the ceiling on the finest metal wires attached to two small ceiling roses giving the impression that the whole structure is lightweight. Talo hanging lamp is available sprayed in white or silver. The illumination is guaranteed by the LED modules, which provide a brilliant light yet are low in energy consumption, even in the modular version, which can be several meters long. Over the course of his career, Poulton has designed many furnishing accessories among which quite a few lamps, he still works alongside Artemide and some of his best projects are in our catalogue. This designer has received many different awards for his work in the in the field of industrial design
The Italian company Artemide was founded in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi and Sergio Mazza.
This Milan-based company is now one of the best-known brands at international level in the lighting sector. Its lamps are synonymous with exquisite design, quality and innovation, and are all strictly made in Italy.
The Artemide lamp collections are produced with environmentally compatible materials without compromising on quality and resistance. The company's aim is to offer modern products with an essential design, at the same time keeping the environment in mind with energy-saving bulbs, using LED technology. This system ensures a high level of luminous efficiency, a lower energy consumption and limited CO2 emissions, and also last longer than conventional light bulbs. Since the nineties, in fact, the company has developed a new concept and philosophy and has made investments in its production techniques. The theory known as "The Human Light" was created by designer Carlotta de Bevilacqua; it is based on the idea that to satisfy the individual lighting needs of humans in different places and at different stages of life, any design has to bear the environment in mind. Artemide made its debut on the international market in 1960 with the "alfa" lamp, designed by Sergio Mazza, and is today a highly dynamic, constantly evolving company. Over the years it has created several energy-saving lamp models with a sophisticated design and suited to a wide number of applications. Among these it is worth mentioning the recent, renowned "Pirce" range by designer Giuseppe Maurizio Scutellà, with hanging lamps, wall lamps and ceiling lamps.
All items in the range are high-quality and elegant; they consist of overlapping disks of powder-coated aluminium that open up fluctuating spirals, creating particular optical and aesthetic effects. These lamps operate with LED bulbs and guarantee greater long-term efficiency, in line with the company philosophy.
The Cabildo collection is made up of three different categories of lamp, designed by Eric Solè in 2005: a hanging lamp, a floor lamp, and a wall light. They are suitable for illumination in living areas and larger spaces such as the bedroom but also for reading corners. The three lamps come with different types of support that hold identical shades of varying dimensions. The oval shade of the Cabildo lamp traces a single continuous line in a perfect ring. The lamp is in white coated die-cast aluminium; the diffuser emits an indirect light that first hits the shade altering its perceived shape, giving life to a kind of illuminated ring with a surreal outline. This lamp is both highly elegant and beautiful; its design is decidedly contemporary which allows it to be combined with any type of furnishing thanks to its pleasing shape and combination of light and shade. The Cabildo floor lamp has a long upright support attached to a round base; the Cabildo hanging lamp is attached to the ceiling by means of a fine rod from which the lamp reflector is suspended with two steel wires. The sconce version has a base that is fixed on the wall to which the ring of the reflector is connected. As a group, these lamps are light and pleasant and all three models can be placed within the same space without the risk of creating an excessively repetitive look. Eric Solè, the designer born in Paris in 1960 but now deceased, designed the Cabildo lamps; his work extended across various fields from industrial and furniture design, his first love, to lamps, which were among the last of his projects. He was always interested in the pattern created by light, an aspect that determined the shapes of the lamps he designed. The Cabildo collection is produced by Artemide, one of the most important brands in the field of designer lamps. Founded in the sixties, Artemide is today recognised at an international level as a result of the design icons produced over the years. In the tradition of some of Italy's most important brands Artemide has, over the years, joined in collaboration with some of the greatest artists, architects and designers who have created pieces that have made history worldwide in the field of industrial design.
Lamps and chandeliers are amongst the most favoured subjects of designers and architects who create items that not only last but whose value also stands the test of time. Castore is one of these items, a collection of simple yet delightful lamps springing from the partnership between Michele de Lucchi, one of Italy's best and most famous designers, and Artemide: one of the most renowned brands in lamp production. Working together, they have created unique collections, which have won them the prestigious Compasso d'oro award and have become icons of Italian style on the international scene. The Castore collection, first produced in 2003, is still very much contemporary; made up of a series of spherical lamps with a linear design, created in white blown glass, with a support in thermoplastic resin and enriched with details in metal. The light they emit is warm, soft and embracing. Created in two sizes, the floor lamp is superb either in living rooms or for a corner in a studio while in the bedroom it evokes an atmosphere of intimacy. It is supplied with a touch switch and dimmer. The smaller model comes in four sizes with varying heights from 31cm to 73cm, and are perfect for tables, bedside tables or desks. Hanging lamp models complete the collection with a choice of four different sized globes. The various dimensions can be combined to create beautiful compositions in any room. Postdating the original collection the Castore chalice hanging lamp was introduced which perfectly matches and integrates with the other elements.
These lamps are compatible with halogen or LED bulbs from any energy class. Manufactured to the highest standards of quality, they incorporate design, innovation and advanced technology. Choosing a light fixture for the home is never easy. To avoid mistakes its best to look for design elements that can be adapted to any room. The lighting from the Castore collection is an excellent solution for any contemporary home; their up-to-date style blends perfectly with modern furnishings. At the same time, a Castore lamp placed on a rustic table can create a dynamic effect of contrasts. Anyone looking for original ideas for lighting for the different rooms of their home will appreciate not just the minimal, clean style but also the warmth that each lamp from the Castore collection brings to its surroundings.
The Cosmic collection consists of various sub-categories. Within the collection are the categories, Cosmic Angel, Cosmic Landscape, Cosmic Leaf, Cosmic Leaf mini, Cosmic Mugg, Cosmic Rotation and Cosmic Rotation reflection. All of these lamps have a state-of-the-art design and are suited to contemporary interiors. The forms of the Cosmic range have been researched and studied down to the minutest detail and they find their perfect place among modern and cutting-edge furnishings.
It is a series of lighting that lends itself to all areas of the home; they are different and innovative and suited as lighting for bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and living room as well as for shops and offices.
The undulating style of Cosmic Angel is soft and floating; the lamp almost seems to move by itself thanks to its structure and perforated shell in aluminium that lightens the whole look. The Angel lamp consists of a complex geometry, which seems to challenge the laws of gravity, moving lightly in the air. The Cosmic Landscape stays within the theme of modernity yet resembles a three dimensional sponge of light. Its outlines are undefined; in fact it looks like a nebula hovering in space. The structure is in coated metal and is well designed for a contemporary interior. It is available both as a ceiling and as wall light.
The Cosmic Leaf is a LED floor lamp. It has an unusual design, shaped like an oblong leaf it grows from the ground reaching ever upwards. Its surface is covered in scales as though it was some kind of alien reptile and is made from chromed steel.
The Cosmic Mugg is a hanging lamp; its shape resembles a strange piece of marine life floating through the ocean. The structure is in bright aluminium while the reflector is in blown glass. The Cosmic Rotation is simpler in style, with its more linear shape it is suited both to modern and traditional interiors. It is a wall light capable of emitting a harmonious light while Cosmic Rotation reflection is similar to its predecessor but is a ceiling light. In fact this lamp has a more tranquil style and is well suited an interior furnished in a more classic or conventional style.
The designer Ross Lovegrove is an artist and visionary, inspired by the natural world and animals; in his work, he unites technology and the science of materials to create items that are unique in their field. His works are famous worldwide, and can be found at MoMa and the Guggenheim in New York and in the Pompidou Centre in Paris.
Lamps produced by Artemide are inspired by the company motto: The Human Light. Lighting made and studied for people, to answer their needs and necessities. The Dioscuri collection encapsulates this motto. These are two different lamps which effectively represent the same concept but which come together in a table version and a version, which can be used as ceiling or wall light. They are reminiscent of the eggshells, which, as ancient legends tell us, gave birth to the Dioscuri the sons of Zeus and Leda. Like those extraordinary eggs, the Dioscuri lamps are made up of four acid-etched blown glass spheres in opalescent white and rest on circular thermoplastic resin supports. From within these magic-looking and otherworldly globes a lively yet gentle and delicate light is emitted. Not just lamps, the Dioscuri collection is truly sculptural and modern, suitable as lighting for contemporary interiors yet their timeless spherical form also means they can be included in a classically furnished home without appearing to be heavy handed or excessive. The Dioscuri lamps are functional and provide light in line with the Artemide philosophy but furthermore they blend perfectly with all the furnishings of any room: notable for their beauty while at the same time fulfilling their function. The Dioscuri collection designed and projected by Michele de Lucchi, a renowned Italian architect and long-time specialist in interior designs for many important international companies such as Enel, Deutsche Bundesbahn, Poste Italiane and Telecom Italia. Michele de Lucchi's work is usually simple and pared down, tied to concepts of modernity in the design of objects and of artisan workmanship rather than mass production. De Lucchi has received many international awards for his work and some of the objects designed by him are now part of important collections of art and contemporary design. Michele de Lucchi has worked with Artemide on the production of some lamp collections which share unusual uses of blown glass. Artemide is one of Italy's most important design companies, which has been producing some of the most beautiful lamps on the international scene since the sixties, some of which are truly works of art.
From the creative pens of the designers Gerhard Reichert and Michele De Lucchi a new type of modern furnishing has been unleashed, enveloping and trapping the light within itself. We are, of course, talking about the Logico collection of lamps from Artemide, a solid range of proposals for anyone looking for lighting ideas not only for the living room, kitchen or studio but also for the bedroom and bathroom. The different variations of the collection, from the wall light to the chandelier, from the hanging lamp to the bedside table light, have been studied in their different dimensions to satisfy the taste and needs of all our clients; enormously versatile, they are perfectly suited as office illumination but are equally effective placed in a sitting room or bathroom. From a practical point of view, the Logico lamps are impeccable and the same goes for the aesthetic aspect. The form, which is as particular as it is unique, evokes a draped fabric gently arranged over a light, veiling yet not smothering it. The lines are soft and sinuous and have all the casual and spontaneity of a piece of cloth left to fall on a surface, taking up the features of its profile. Solidity and longevity are given to the piece by the blown glass with its gloss silk finish. This object, with its duo of characteristics that swing between delicacy and hardness, between softness and definition, is indicative of true style in a light fixture that already possesses all the typical features unique to a world-class piece of design. A simple, clean support has been chosen to hold up this soft drape in the table and floor versions of this lamp, made up of the simplest of metal tubes, which protrude upwards opening and gently touching the form of the shade. The base consists of a simple metal tile, with the lowest possible profile yet with a wide enough surface area to ensure the lamp remains stable and upright. The same goes for the hanging lamps, which seem to float delicately in the air thanks to the finest, nearly invisible supports that hold them up. The effect created by the ceiling light is equally atmospheric, taking on the shape of a waterfall of light with its irregular outlines it cascades its light from above filling the surroundings with a play of light and shade. Whichever setting it is placed in a Logico lamp consistently enriches the contemporary furnishings that predominate the living area. Its unmistakable style mean is not just a lamp but first and foremost a design object, a small gem that adds a special touch to the most carefully styled yet practical areas of the house.
The Artemide lamps that make up the Melampo collection are creations from the French designer Adrien Gardère which go back as far as 2000. The main feature that and distinguishes these models is the use of highly innovative materials destined to last a long time. The reflector shaped like a truncated cone is in silk satin on a plastic frame while the main structure is made from coated zamak, an extremely pliable alloy, malleable yet also very resistant. The round base is connected to the four-cornered shaft, which takes shape out of blurred and rounded corners. The original element that makes these lamps so particular is the ability to orient the shade in two different positions. The Artemide series of lamps includes: Melampo table lamp, created in 2000, it is 58 cm high and the shade can be angled in three different positions allowing the halogen bulbs within to deliver a more, or less, direct light depending on requirement. These Aphrodite lamps come in three main colours: bronze ecru, grey aluminium and black.
Another version is Melampo Night, the lamp has a single central support and is defined by its soft and delicate curves. The light from this clean and elegantly designed lamp can be directed or diffused making it ideal for illuminating either bedroom or living room. It takes a halogen lamp and is no taller than 42.5 cm in height. Finally, Melampo Mega is the floor lamp version offered by the collection. The reflector can be positioned at three different angles meaning that the overall height can vary from a minimum 174 cm to a maximum of 217.4 cm. Furthermore, the Melampo Mega floor lamp is equipped with an electronic dimmer to control the intensity of the illumination. The light emitted by its two halogen light bulbs can be directed in a direct or diffused manner depending on the needs of the moment. In all the versions of the collection, the electric cable and switch are plastic matching in tone with the different colourways available. A modern series of styles suitable both for private and public furnishing. The simplicity of the lines and the originality of the reflector with its choice in positioning, lends the Melampo lamps an ironic style, which adapts to various types of furnishing both in the home and in office. They add character and value to any commercial venture that values the importance of well-researched lighting fixtures that are both different and incandescent.
Launched in 2013 created by Carlotta de Bevilacqua and Paola di Arianello the Empatia collection joins the essence of blown glass workmanship to LED illumination technology. Artemide's skill in producing lamps reaches the highest levels of quality in the manufacture of design products carefully finished down to the last detail. In fact, Empatia won both the prestigious Wallpaper Design Award and iF Product Design Award in 2014. It is a furnishing accessory, which will enrich any modern or contemporary interior. It joins the strengths from traditional hand-made blown glass, carried out by Venetian masters of the art, and a new reworking of the lamp concept, conceived not just as a simple object but also as a centrepiece for the environment in which it is placed. All the Empatia collection models have a reflector in glass with a glossy silk finish; they rest on a base made from coated aluminium with the internal structure in methacrylate. The Empatia table lamp is available in three sizes, starting with at a height of 19.1 cm then 28.9 cm and finishing at a height of 38.2 cm. Furthermore, they come in three different power capacities and are supplied with a dimmer giving control over the intensity of the light. The Empatia ceiling/wall light comes in the same three variations of size differentiated by its fittings suitable for wall attachment. The hanging lamp version of Empatia expresses even greater dynamism; the light beam stands out, held up by a rigid vertical support. This version also comes in three different sizes. Clean and essential lines define Artemide's Empatia floor light. The four cornered base and upright are in coated metal and together with the reflector stand at a height of 150 cm. The steel colour lends greater luminosity to the head of each lamp, which emits a widely diffused light thanks to the LED light engine system contained at the base of the structure. Maximum output is obtained with the light pipe that has an extremely low absorption coefficient. The hand-crafted techniques used in the production of the blown glass ensures each piece is unique and original. These highly sought-after designer objects complement all types of modern furnishing, blending in with ease in various areas of the home or office. These products are a demonstration of the care given both to lighting and to technology by Artemide, they reveal the essence of the light yet maintain a perfect level of opaqueness reflecting a luminosity that is both researched and studied.
The Toio lamps were created by the two Italian designers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in the the sixties. These two designers have played around with elements usually alien to interior lamps, in fact Toio, the name coined for this collection, is a playful Italian transformation of the word Toy itself. It's a real plaything, from its materials to its shape and to the objects that is made of. Toio is a floor lamp with a lacquered and folded metal base, that supports a hexagonal rod, which rises up to hold a car headlight. The black electric cable that follows the support up to the headlight is held in place by real fishing rod guides; the cable is fitted with a dimmer for controlling the intensity of the lamp light. A particularly long cable allows it to be placed freely within a space and the base holds the transformer necessary for the use of this lamp. The only difference in the lamps of the Toio collection is the colour of shear-cut and folded metal base which comes in brilliant white, red or black. Despite it's age this remains an elegant and versatile lamp that still fits in perfectly with a modern contemporary style. When used inside any room, its upwardly directed light provides excellent overall illumination. The genius of these two Italian designers demonstrates how, from common place objects such as a car or fishing rod, true works-of-art can be created from simple pieces. The Toio lamps are for indoor use, but the length of the electric cable gives them great flexibility and makes them adaptable to all kinds of different purposes, even outside, for example, as illumination for an evening on the terrace. These lamps do not require any installation allowing a group to be placed together flooding the interior with a high level of lighting. Perfect as a furnishing accessory even in the living room.
The lamps in the Parentesi collection from Flos are for indoor use and make perfect living room lighting. The first Parentesi (the word which means brackets in Italian) lamp was launched in 1971 and is a object from the renowned Achille Castiglioni inspired by a Pio Manzù design. The completely innovative and original design of this lamp is an icon of Italian style and is now exhibited in many modern art museums. The idea was to pare down and simplify lighting appliances using, what were then, innovative materials. The Parentesi lamps consist of two bases one for the ceiling and one for the floor, which between them maintain tension on a fine steel cable; in turn the cable supports a bracket shaped tubular element on which the lamp holder is mounted allowing it to freely oriented. The genius and originality of Achille Castiglioni is captured in these few elements: this lamp is simple and innovative yet expresses enormous style and elegance. The original idea by Pio Manzù mounted the lamp holder on a shaft, Castiglioni substituted this with the steel cable which creates the necessary friction along with the bracket shaped tube allowing the head to be positioned without the use of stoppers or screws. The Parentesi collection is suited to contemporary interiors. The materials of the lamp are steel, for the cable and tube, and various plastic materials for the lamp holder and other structural elements of the lamp. Thanks to the linear and pared down simplicity of the project, Parentesi is a lamp that is still versatile and contemporary in its style. The lamp holder can be moved to any direction that requires lighting while the metal tube that holds it can be moved up and down vertically along the cable making it exceptionally versatile and suitable for interiors of any dimension. The Parentesi collection is made up from a single sized lamp on which only one element can be customised: the colour of the metal tube which supports the lamp holder. Both the lamp holder and the supports for the metal cable are in black, while the tube can be black, red, white or in nickel. Parentesi lamps work exceptionally well installed as a group providing a high level of illumination.
Romeo Moon is a collection of hanging, floor and table lamps designed by Philippe Starck in 1998. The clean style expresses the designer's the intention to reflect the light as though it was being shielded by someone's hands. This shielded effect is provided by the external reflector in pressed glass with an acid-etched finish, on the underside there is a transparent, stamped polycarbonate dust protector. An internal diffuser, in transparent glass, delicately sheds the light. The Romeo Moon collection includes two differently sized hanging lamps, the structure of which is suspended from the ceiling by means of three fine steel cables. The floor and table versions have identical reflectors that differ from the ceiling light model and are held up by a rod in grey coated steel on a large round base. The clean and elegant lines make these lamps suitable for any type of room in the home; this highly versatile collection provides the perfect furnishing accessories whatever the style of the home interior. The airy aspect of these lamps is unimposing within their surroundings, making them suitable for use in large interiors: in fact, the Romeo Moon lamps are often selected for installation in great numbers for the wide dining spaces of fashionable restaurants. The enormous versatility of the Romeo Moon collection is also thanks to range of sizes available. All the models, floor lamp, table lamp and hanging lamp, come in two different sizes offering a solution for any placement within any interior. The lack of colour in the reflector and its support makes the lamps of the Romeo Moon collection easy to insert into any context. This type of lamp is equally at home in a linear modern setting as it is in a historic house with original furnishings. It's design won't date as time passes but will continue to have a passionate following. As with all the objects designed by Philippe Starck they are constantly converting new admirers to their style, across the board.

The Fucsia collection offered by Flos springs from the innovative ideas and audacious yet elegant pen of Achille Castiglioni, it's a catalogue of hanging lamps with a forcefully innovative and original design. Described as sculptures in glass, these lamps by Castiglioni for Flos are ideal lighting devices for anyone wishing to bring a touch of innovation into their home without giving up class or elegance. The structure is very simple, its main feature is a blown glass cone, the versions that are composed of more than one body of light create a cascade of light that rains delicately down from the ceiling. The frosting on the lower edge of the glass is the detail which makes the difference, a stylish touch which conceals its purely functional role for reducing the risk of glare caused by the light reflecting on the glass. The elongated form of the cone gives the lamp a slender, delicate look further accented by the slim, long hanging shaft made from coated aluminium which gives the Fucsia lamps an appearance of being suspended in the air like luminous drops of light that drift down from the ceiling. At Flos we are very aware that each interior has its own distinct requirements for quantity and type of light: we give our clients the chance to select the combination of Fucsia lamps most suitable to their needs. The options begin with the single unit then multiply into a groups of three, eight or twelve pieces, harmoniously arranged on the appropriate ceiling mount which also comes in an equally varied number of configurations.
The elegance and versatility of the Fucsia collection from Flos offers a choice of ideal lamps for every room of your home. A linear formation of Fucsia lamps, for example, provides an excelent solution for lighting above a kitchen island while a different version, with what looks like a casual grouping of lamps, would create a spectacular effect in in a living or dining room. This type of lighting feature even lends itself to the bedroom with their distinct style that is sober, clean and as transparent as the glass that defines their shape. The materials used freely transmit the light allowing them to depict their surroundings with an undirected yet diffused field of illumination. This feature creates a fascinating contrast: the space is freely invaded by the light contradicting the logic of the cone, the essence of which is to trap and direct the light; containing its delivery to a defined area of illumination.
Clean lines and regular shapes are the principle ingredients of the Kelvin collection by Antonio Citterio. Available as a table lamp, with or without a clamp, wall lamp or free standing illumination, the Kelvin products blend the indispensable characteristics of quality, elegance and essence that define the sober minimalistic style and are, of course, studied down to the smallest detail.
The reflector delivers a direct and uniform light shed from a tightly packed innovative LED system. A feature of the structure is its double pantograph arm that enables the light beam to be directed where it is needed. The underside of the head which holds the light is made from pored aluminium, while the outer part is in die-cast aluminium. The reflector is made from methacrylate. The finishings for the base of the floor or table lamp versions can be customised and are available in the colourways of black, white and anthracite. The lamp's structure is very simple; consisting of a 12 mm square aluminium tube. It undergoes an extremely delicate and elaborate production process which results in an product of impeccable quality both in its aesthetic appearance and function. The careful assembly is fundamental for the correct installation of the parts that control the movement of the Kelvin lamp. All the materials have been chosen for their characteristics of solidity and structural reliability giving the product stability and longevity. The traction of the structure is maintained by externally mounted steel cables with a diameter of just 3 mm. The illumination is controlled by a classic ON/OFF switch enhanced with a an optic function system positioned in the head. The Kelvin collection conceived by Flos is a study in the genre; the fruit of this research is a lamp that lies half way between a office light and one destined for the more typical, yet at the same time intimate, areas of the home such as the lounge or living room. The simple design is bereft of references to any particular style of furnishing making it the ideal solution for any style of room although tendentially minimal. These characteristics add to Kelvin making them, in all their versions, extremely versatile and adaptable lighting appliances. Even the bedroom is a suitable setting for this kind of product, enhancing its surroundings with a sophisticated aesthetic effect and impeccable taste. The reliance on the LED technology is a further reason to favour the Kelvin collection giving it the advantage of low energy consumption without compromising either function or beauty.
he K-tribe collection includes various sizes of floor lamp, wall lamp, hanging lamp and table lamp, in addition it offers a version of the floor lamp which can be installed outside. These lamps were designed by Phillippe Starck in 2005; inspired by decidedly classic shapes, he has de-constructed and remodelled them using exceptional cutting-edge technology. The collection is elegant yet sober, with the support elements in die-cast zamak chromed and polished creating the effect of clean and linear steel. The square base on the floor and table lamp is covered with galvanised sheet steel. The internal structure of the lamp and reflector are in opalescent moulded polycarbonate for a perfect diffusion of the light. The external diffuser is in polymethylmethacrylate which, in the aluminated versions, has been coated on the underside in silver or bronze using a particular vacum technique. The lamps are available in different dimensions with the external reflector in transparent or smoke, alternatively in the transparent finishes of silver, aluminated bronze and smoke or in cream coloured fabric. The outer reflector of the K-tribe Outdoor model comes in black or two toned brown with a wicker effect. Lamps from the K-tribe collection are highly decorative and despite their inspiration which is classic and even banal, they are outstanding as unusual furnishing accessories. They diffuse a vivid light ensuring a decidedly important point of light. These lamps are frequently used for illuminating large interiors in particular the hanging lamp, just one of these provides enough light to illuminate a large portion of any room. Philippe Starck has conceived them as decorative elements that can fit into various types of interior from gyms to restaurants. They also add their own style as a furnishing accessory in the home, especially where the interiors are modern and linear. They are equally effective used in small groups, or to create various points of light in a a single room: several examples of K-tribe can be placed in the same environment without ever seeming heavy or excessive.

The project for the Flow collection started in 2009 and was designed by the Nicola Architecture&design studio, enhancing the wide range of products and lamps from Fabbian. The outstanding feature of these objects is the transparency of the 24% lead cut crystal. All the models that make up this range are available in three different colour tones. There is a choice between white or transparent while the latest version is coated with a reflective finish on the inside of the shade. The geometric pattern that covers the entire surface increases the luminosity of this item, creating and highlighting the light and shade of the crystal. The Flow hanging lamp can be altered in length from a minimum of 30 cm to a maximum of 200 cm. Either halogen or compact fluorescent lights can be fitted to illuminate the lamp enhancing the truncated cone shape of the reflector. The other Flow hanging lamp solution is distinguished by its generous curved lines, the shade is much wider and the support can be lengthened from a minimum of 40 cm to a maximum of 200 cm. This lamp also can be fitted with the two different types of bulb. The reduced dimensions are the definitive elements of the Flow ceiling light, the circular base in chrome can be attached directly to the wall. In its entirety the lamp, including its reflector, is no taller than 13.2 cm. It is equipped with two different light sources which highlight the decorative cut pattern made up of clean and elegant geometric lines. The Flow table lamp is a small sized model, including the polished chrome base and support, it stands at just 25 cm: it takes a halogen lamp. A second version of the table lamp has a wider reflector and stands at 47.6 cm. The polished and finished details of the Flow applique's chrome arm enhance the luminosity emanating from the decorative crystal reflector. The fitting for fixing it to the wall is special owing to its soft curved shape which is reminiscent of a more classic style, re-worked with a contemporary designer feel. The total height of the item is 24.1 cm. Finally, completing the collection manufactured by Fabbian, is the Flow floor light. The rounded base meets the vertical rod which holds the beautiful cut crystal reflector at the perfect height, making this lamp so much more than just a lighting appliance, putting it in the realms of a truly modern designer furnishing accessory. Both the Flow applique and the Flow floor lamp can be fitted to take halogen or compact fluorescent bulbs. These lamps play with the light and are perfect both in private or public contexts.
The Beluga collection is made up of a wide range of compact sized spotlights that can be mounted in several different ways. They have a clean, linear design, the spotlights are comprised of a small sphere that holds the light source allowing it to escape through an opening in the material. The Beluga ceiling lights are available in chrome plated steel, in lead crystal or in blown glass. The steel is simply polished, while the glass is in opalescent white and the crystal spotlights come in many different colourways. A feature of the Beluga collection is the versatility of the wide range of polished chrome plated steel supports which can be fixed to the ceiling, wall or floor. A room can be lit up from many directions, exclusively using spotlights from the Beluga family. There are also versions of recessed lighting for ceiling or wall lighting. The Beluga collection is completed by a beautiful floor lamp that echos the style of the recessed spotlights; it is called Beluga Alu and can be used both inside and outside. The shades are of larger dimensions than on the other spotlights and set on its square base with its raised profile the Beluga Alu has the appearance of being recessed into the floor. The illumination diffused by these lights is warm and pleasant and can be intensified by grouping the lamps together. The version in blown glass is also available with supports which will allow three spheres to be placed along a elliptical ceiling rose. These lamps have been created by the Austrian born designer Marc Sadler who has lived in Milan for many years and works with some of the most famous names in the production of furnishing accessories, for clothing companies that produce hi-tech sports wear and for many international brands that produce designer objects. For many years he has worked with Fabbian, an Italian company that specialises in the production of lighting fixtures which has a long history of manufacturing and distributing items of the highest quality and working with designers of international fame. The Fabbian products are known for the beauty and for the durability of their components; the company holds all the most currently important certificates of quality.

Crystal and fabric are the main elements that make up the sumptuous Diamond & Swirl collection offered by Fabbian. Conceived and created in 2008 by the design partnership Bridgewell Consulting LTD. Its modern elegant and sophisticated style is enriched by the workmanship and use of innovative materials. The first model from the range is the Diamond & Swirl hanging lamp, its outstanding feature is the 24% lead crystal reflector. The grinding on the glass is done by hand and its vertical rigid support can be adjusted to a minimum length of 30 cm and maximum of 190 cm. The shades are available in two different colours. The decorative motifs are either diamond shaped and geometric or undulating with curved lines repeated in a sequence. The two distinct designs create different patterns of light which increase and enhance the intensity of the illumination. The cap from which the lamp hangs is slightly curved increasing the dynamism of these Fabbian lamps. The detailing is in polished chrome. The Diamond & Swirl wall light is an extremely attractive furnishing accessory ideal in a modern designer context. the applique is a real gem of light adorning any vertical surface with its crystal reflector, it is available in two versions and both decorative motifs. It rests on a chrome base and is 22 cm in height. The Diamond & Swirl table lamp reorganises the structure of the original design and uses the crystal as the supporting base while the shade is created in ribbed woven fabric and organza. The weave of the fabric, in black or white, gives a further dimension to the light emitted. The rounded form of the lower part reflects the light across its transparent surface while the intensity is directed upwards thanks to the simple yet unusual lines of the shade. the overall height of the lamp is 40 cm. Another version of this range is the wall light with reflector in fabric. Diamond & Swirl remodels the outstanding elements of this series, the crystal with its three dimensional geometric pattern is ensconced in the round chrome vertical base. An angled arm holds the pleated lampshade which comes in black or white. All the Fabbian lamps that make up the Diamond & Swirl collection are exclusively equipped to take a halogen bulb. They are an inspired designer illumination and are suitable for enhancing contemporary style furnishings either in private homes or in elegant commercial businesses open to the public.
Lighting fixtures in a room are not just there to provide visibility at the onset of darkness but are also important for enriching the furnishing elements whatever the style of the home or office. Ideas for lighting, therefore, should have no limits and must correspond to all the style requirements as well as being, above all, functional. For those who love a sophisticated and simple style yet at the same time particular and unusual can, for example, opt for the Cubetto collection of lamps. They are already internationally famed, it is the particular characteristics of the transparent glass in 24% lead crystal that gives the reflector its fundamental uniqueness adding to the exceptional nature of the Cubetto lamp range. Regardless of whether the lighting is placed in the bedroom, where the illumination should lend intimacy in a private setting, or if it is placed in the living room or office, the Cubetto collection can encompass and satisfy any requirements: distinctive appliques come either with a transparent crystal glass reflector or with a black glass reflector frosted on the inside; table lamps have a satin glass finish which creates a focal point of soft light. The Cubetto hanging lamps come with a chrome metal structure that supports three lamps, again with the reflector in transparent or black glass which, when hung from the ceiling, delivers a direct light not only for the room but also for selected points such as a table, sofa or a corner within the space. If hanging lamps or appliques are not your preferred types of lighting, the Cubetto ceiling lights may be the choice for you and can be directly installed on the ceiling. In this instance the design is extremely simple but enhances its surroundings illuminating them from a precise point with a direct light from above, consequently it enriches and lends luminosity to both modern or more conventional types of interiors. The styling for the Cubetto range of lamps matches beautifully with any style or context: a home, a special bedroom or also for an office where the lighting is fundamental for a good working environment. Here, in fact, there are excellent solutions to meet all requirements; with a simple change of a light bulb the lighting can be used to create fixed points of light that are specific and directed, or alternatively, a light that diffuses throughout the room whichever is most suitable to the situation.
The Fabbian brand is always a guarantee of stunning lighting accessories, that add a special touch to any furnishing style. The Sospesa collection combines the lightweight structure with panels of extra-light, tempered, transparent glass with a thickness of only 15 mm. These hanging lamps and wall lamps are well suited to modern, contemporary furnishings and unite elements of industrial design with the creativeness of architects Paolo De Lucchi and Lisa Bellon, who designed them. The versatility of glass is used to achieve the stunning linear design of this item, the round holes that add a touch of dynamism and the grooves that hold the electric wiring. This hanging lamp is available in different sizes and shapes (square, rectangular or slightly asymmetric) to meet individual needs and is suitable in the home or the office. All models can be fitted with LED or halogen bulbs. The polished chrome ceiling hooks can be adjusted in height and the wide range of different sizes makes this collection suitable for use in rooms of different sizes, even very large spaces. The wall lamps in the Sospesa collection are characterised by the use of glass together with the supports in polished chrome. This range of rectangular-shaped lamps can be used with LED or halogen bulbs. A semi-circular shaped lamp is also available. The wall lamp was designed to light up a bare wall while the intensity of light is provided by LED technology, as in the quadrangular models. Each element of these lamps has been carefully studied down to the last detail, also in terms of the materials used and the finishing, to achieve a high level of quality and practicality. The collection also includes a rectangular, more compact wall lamp. The Fabbian hanging lamp collection is ideal for adding an exclusive touch to work environments, for example to provide lighting above a conference table or in retail spaces. The avant-garde lighting systems used emit a soft, bright light that is reflected even further by the transparency of the special, extra-light tempered glass. The lamps in this collection exude simple elegance and offer practical lighting with a trendy, contemporary style of elegance.

Among these the Faretti collection stands head and shoulders above the rest. The Faretti collection is of considerable prestige, thanks to its recessed fittings in crystal that create fabulous and elegant drops of light. The 24% lead crystal is enriched with different finishings either transparent or frosted, alternatively they are combined with stainless steel creating a uniquely pleasing look. Naturally the collection offers different models which vary in their original and creative forms. For those who love simplicity the style of the Faretti Blow offers an ideal lighting solution for the living room. For the more daring, searching for a thrusting style suited to modern furnishings, Cindy is the perfect option.
The Faretti lights can be coordinated with a range of styles, satisfying all requirements, thanks to their unusual shapes which go from square to round, from three dimensional enriched with a satin finish to simple smooth and transparent. Any contemporary interior acquires that extra something with the Faretti collection regardless of their simplicity, like the Rombo, Lui or Lei, or sophistication as found in the above mentioned Cindy and Blow. The reflectors for all the models in the Faretti collection are exclusively in 24% lead crystal and are either smooth and simple or have a 3D component which creates compelling plays of light both in transparent crystal and in satin glass versions. Some models of the Faretti lamps have a faceplate in stainless steel making then more suitable for bathroom or office lighting. The type, structure and design of the Faretti lights means any type of interior will find its lighting solution within this collection.
It would be hard to find a name that fits more perfectly. The Bijou collection, as the adjective suggests, stands out among the other collections from Fabbian; it is delicate, modern and sparkles like a jewel. Emblem of a contemporary furnishing style, they provide the perfect lighting solution for the living room, bedroom, office or bathroom. The Bijou family is made up of hanging lamps, appliques, and free standing illumination in coated metal with shapes that are either squared off or soft and elongated. This allows them to fulfil a double function; to illuminate rooms and their dark corners but, above all, to add a superb decorative element to any home. The Bijou collection from Fabbian has a solution for all types of interiors, either for creating that particular atmosphere needed by readers who wish to lose themselves in the pages of a book or for providing a source of artificial light for a dinner with family or friends alternatively for an area to relax in or even as the perfect illumination for use in the complex environment of the office. Their original shapes and sophisticated metal structure make them a beautiful ornament to display in the corner of a living room, simultaneously illuminating two walls or as a decorative accessory beside a sofa at the centre of attention. A Fabbian lamp, symbol of designer furnishing, deserves to be appreciated and should be the centrepiece of any interior it is placed in. The three different finishes available, white or black gloss and chrome, make this type of lighting even more sophisticated. The appliques are not all static models, thanks to a flexible arm some can pointed in different directions making these lights even more convenient for decorating living areas and bedrooms. If you need to enhance your office space or a particular area of your living room with a modern lighting system which is both chic and effective, why not choose a single hanging lamp in black, white or chrome or one of the static appliques which emits four different points of light onto the wall? The effects you can create will surprise you!
The Spun Light collection was created for Flos in 2003 by Sebastian Wrong. It's comprised of various table and floor lamps created with the aim of adding an extra touch of elegance to any interior. The lamps have a clean simple shape consisting of an upright of various dimensions which melds softly into the round base and holds up a circular reflector; resting on a plastic supports the reflector contains the bulb and diffuses a subdued and delicate light. The body, the upright and the reflector are made from machined sheet metal; the other parts are in die-cast aluminium and injection moulded polycarbonate. All metal parts have been coated in a special varnish with a high shine finish, in white, grey, mud, black or polished aluminium. The overall look of the lamp is light and elegant concealing its highly resistant metal structure. The table lamp model is fitted with a pressed and frosted glass screen on the upper side of the diffuser preventing the light from being dispersed upwards when placed on a low surface. A dimmer switch is installed on the Spun Light floor lamps power cable for regulating the intensity of the illumination. The contemporary style of these lamps sets then apart making them perfect for modern interiors. The lightness and simplicity of design allows the lamps from this collection to be blended with various types of home decorations, including antiques, and tend to find a place within any furnishing context. With their graceful, clean lines the versatility of the Spun Light lamps is clearly evident either as a single point of illumination, in pairs or even in small groups. Only for indoor use, they should not be installed outside. This collection of lamps takes halogen bulbs ensuring they create a good source of light despite the metal diffuser which contains the area lit within a room, avoiding excessive illumination or glare.
Crown is a collection of lamps that has become a bestseller for NEMO. Including floor lamps, wall lamps and pendant. With this collection Nemo and the collection's designers Jehs & Laub have looked to recreate a style that once dominated in noble palaces of the past.
The Tatou collection is comprised of a range of hanging, floor and table lamps, designed by Patricia Urquiola in 2012. The name Tatou is derived from the French word meaning "armadillo": and just like an armadillo the lamps in this collection are covered with an armour that protects the warm heart of light. As the designer herself explains, the extraordinary feature of the Tatou lamp is its lampshade which has been designed to create a kind of rigid shell, inspired by the linked, chain metal structure of antique Japanese armour. Over time the aim of the project has changed, above all as the Tatou lamps needed to be mass-produced and not handmade. Today the armadillo like armour is in moulded opal polycarbonate, and the reflector is injection moulded also in polycarbonate. These materials still pay homage to the Japanese armour, with the shape and sense of structural rigidity but now it's lightweight and the various parts of the shade can be assembled with ease. The Tatou lamps are available in different sizes and dimensions and also in different colours: white, black and grey ochre. The different colours of the shade create interesting varations in illumination, as the radiated light is filtered by the opal coloured polycarbonate in a particular manner making it warm and subdued. Tatou is a collection of lamps that stands out, the unusual shape of their lampshade makes them a unique furnishing accessory: modern works of art with a practical function. The rest of the lamp's structure is decidedly less striking; the hanging lamps are supplied with a fine white wire which attaches to a circular ceiling rose. The floor and table lamp versions are supported by a coated steel rod which rests on a round base in the same colour as the shade. Overall they can be described as beautiful and decorative lamps suited to interiors that already have there own character: lamps from the Tatou collection have a distinctive personality and would be out of place in any particularly anonymous interior.

The range of Artemide lamps offers so many ideas for lighting your home and workplace. The Meteorite collection was conceived in 2014 from the creative expertise of the two Venetian architect and designer brothers, Pio & Tito Toso. The traditional craftsmanship that goes into the production of blown glass is completely reinvented for this series of unique products. In fact the reflector is created using the technique of blowing a double layer of molten glass into multi-piece mould. The result is a modern lamp with a shape modelled to express the intended aesthetic requirements. The grinding used for smoothing, shaping and polishing gives it the white look of unfinished glass. It emanates a luminosity that is enriched by a play of light giving particular depth to the lamp. Its uneven yet spherical shape create an elegant furnishing accessory.
Meteorite floor lamp is composed of a linear vertical support made from steel and engineering polymer. The total height is 177 cm and it emits an indirect diffused light. Meteorite hanging lamp is another version from the Artemide collection of lamps, supplied with a support and ceiling rose for hanging from the ceiling. The structure is in moulded engineering polymer with each of the individual pieces coated. There are three different versions of this model, which vary both in dimension and light intensity. Meteorite wall light/ceiling light is ideal for adding dynamism to a modern or contemporary interior, its form creates enormous visual impact when placed on a vertical surface. The collection offers two choices of size. Finally, the last element that completes this series is the Meteorite table lamp. With its reflector in blown glass, it is a stunning centrepiece that is supported by an internal structure made in steel and engineering polymer. This version comes in two different sizes.
This Model is flanked by another of the same genre, this time supported on a vertical rod with a round base. Once again, it is offered in two different sizes to meet all requirements. Most of the products from this collection are supplied with a dimmer, a practical electronic regulator which gives you control over the intensity of the light depending on your preference and time of day, it is a piece of technology that respects the importance of low energy consumption.
All the lamps from the Meteorite collection take a halogen bulb.
The soft design, the richly faceted luminosity created by the reflector in blown glass make these Artemide lamps fabulous objects that contextualise and enhance their surroundings.
An unusual collection made up of many different elements defined by their total unfettered simplicity of line and by a concept of balance: the genius for this idea struck their designer, Michael Anasstassiades, while watching a street performer manipulating large coloured orbs. Every one of the models from the IC collection captures a instance from that extraordinary performance. The lamps are made up of perfectly cylindrical arms finished either in brushed or varnished brass, or in chrome plated steel. Depending on the version selected the arms form a simple L shape or are in groups of three of four creating a variety of angles. The globe shaped reflector is pristine and simple in opalescent glass. The various series within the IC lamp collection are differentiated by the positioning of the luminous globe along the supporting arm, some of which create an almost surreal effect. The globe on the wall light version rests within an L made up of two arms; for the floor light version the reflector is positioned above the L as though suspended for an instant on its journey along the metal arm. The table lamp model comes in two different forms; the first with the luminous globe placed along a vertical arm; the second positions the reflector on a slanted arm creating the impression that it has halted there briefly on its skyward ascent. The collection is completed with the IC hanging lamps which consists of a cable that descends from the ceiling connected to a arm with an 120° angle which holds the light. Visually the result is almost unreal, especially when two or more of these lamps are viewed together: it almost seems as though the reflectors are playfully moving along the arms that support them. The IC collection includes numerous versions which differ not just in the arrangement of their metal structures but also in the dimensions of the luminous globe. The larger table versions are also suited for use as floor lamps and create a remarkable atmosphere. The light emitted by the by the opalescent glass of the lamps is soft and diffused without excessive glare. These lamps are extremely versatile and are perfect for spacious interiors.
Amongst the gems in the prestigious ranges offered by Foscarini, The Caboche collection is, without doubt, outstanding. Sophisticated yet at the same time ironic this collection gathers together a family of lamps that in their detailing and looks ar reminiscent of real jewels. Elegant and functional, they are fruit of carefuly research in their design, materials, and high quality workmanship. the Caboche lamps are a perfect combination of creativity, sensitivity and aschetic taste that are trademarks of their designers: the world renowned Patricia Urquiola and Eliana Gerotto. The collection is made up of floor lamps, hanging lamps, wall lamps as well as table and ceiling lamps. Their defining feature is their circular shape and are inspired by the style and glitter of sophisticated gems. Each lamp is made up of a cascade of transparent marbles in harmonious sucession which encircle the light source. The polymethyl methacrylate used to make each marble is a modern, resistant, strong and durable material, but appears softer thanks to its clear transparency that succeeds in intensifying the luminosity of the halogen or LED light sources. The lamps also have blown glass inserts that cleverly direct and filter the luminous flux for a guaranteed impeccable effect of diffused light. If used on their own, any version of the lamps in the Caboche collection by Foscarini fill even the simplest areas with oustanding beauty. An excellent combination can be achieved with the standing lamp and ceiling lamp, or the hanging lamp and wall or table lamp. They are available with either a transparent or gold finish and in different sizes according to the illumination needed. Multiple compositions produce a spectacular effect: it is possible to attach together up to six hanging lamps on a single metallic ceiling rose to create a fine, bright cascade of light, to emphasis the beauty of an entrance hall, corridor or staircase. The lamps in the Caboche collection are icons of modern furnishing. They are ideal in the living room but also highly suited to the bedroom or a chic, particularly well-groomed office environment. Their versatility, together with the sophisticated appearance, at the same time witty and graceful, makes them a superb choice also in the kitchen or in contemporary style restaurants.
Foscarini aims to create lighting appliances that are representative of truly impressive furnishing fixtures which transform day to day living into a decidedly extraordinary experience; with this in mind the company has launched the Aplomb collection, not only captivating and exceptionally sophisticated, its particular style blends perfectly with architecturally essential interiors, lending them a contemporary and direct look. The basic philosophy for the collection is, in fact, the desire to give life to a avant-garde range that is capable of responding to the needs of a diversity of clients and to the continuing demands of a market in continual and rapid evolution. These lamps have modern and particularly elegant lines: defining features of the Aplomb collection which offers the buyer a choice of wall lights, hanging lamps and floor lamps. All the elements from the Aplomb collection are made in cement, the colours available are white, grey, and brown. In contrast to the wall lamp and hanging lamp the floor lamp alone is made both with cement and coated metal parts. Lets take a look then at the characteristics of the various lamps that make up the Aplomb collection offered by Foscarini. the Aplomb wall lights are constructed in raw cement and are endowed with sloped lines that fit perfectly with the wall they are fixed on, allowing the light to diffuse evenly in all directions. these lamps, furthermore, emanate a light beam both up and downwards creating an atmospheric play of light. The Aplomb hanging lamp fits in perfectly with a contemporary interior and are ideal as lighting above a table or breakfast bar. These lamps, in particular, require very little in the way of maintenance and are low consumption representing a consistent saving. Finally, the Aplomb floor lamps are real true design elements that complement any modern interior with a decidedly impeccable style. They are ideal for lighting the living room, bedroom and even the office, these lamps represent the perfect solution for anyone passionate about pared down, modern design. These lamps proposed by Foscarini in an attempt to offer original lighting ideas for the home, office spaces or business premises, are quite unique and sophisticated. They are exquisite designer collections that use patterns of light, experimenting with new shapes and technology. A constant evolution that has led to the creation and variation of furnishing accessories with a unique, exclusive style. The Mite lamps are a prime example and were awarded the renowned Compasso d'Oro prize in 2001. The Mite floor lamp is the result of the close working collaboration between Foscarini and well-known French designer, Marc Sadler. The maximum height is 1.85 m and it stands out for its tapered, circular shapes that get bigger towards the top. The structure exudes an air of lightness and the material used is the innovative result of constant technological research aimed at experimenting and new types of usage, creating new paths in contemporary design development. The entire structure of the lamp is in fact in fibre glass and carbon fibre, also known as Klevar: this material is normally used for the production of golf clubs and is patented by another famous brand: Dupont. The creativity of Foscarini has given this material a new potential use, transforming it into a designer product that suits modern, contemporary furnishing styles. A thread of Klevar is wrapped around to create essential, linear shapes that express a feeling of lightness. This floor lamp version is perfect in any room where light is considered an integral part of the overall design. The long diffuser is part of the lamp body itself and gives off a soffused, vertical light, highlighting the decorative aspect of the horizontal lines that define the entire item, giving it a touch of vitality. Every detail is superbly finished, and the lamp is composed of several elements including steel, aluminium and nickel-plated metal. The smooth, circular base measures up to 21 cm in diameter and enhances the beauty of Mite. It is not an exclusive designer lamp but a true furnishing accessory in its own right, which will give a touch of sophistication and personality to any room. Mite is fitted with a dimmer switch to ensure just the right amount of light in any moment. It can also be fitted with either halogen or LED light bulbs, while the colours available are two: yellow or black.
When we talk about lamps for the illumination of modern interiors, we are not only referring to the actual need to provide light but to the opportunity of finding one or several solutions for adding a touch of personality and class to the home, at the same time taking into account the functional necessity of illumination and the activities carried out in the room. We also have to minimise the environmental impact and try to save energy as far as possible.
That is why Tress lamps are of such interest. They were created by Marc Sadler, the skilled French design (naturalised Italian), with a great deal of experience under his belt as an industrial design and was awarded the "Compasso d'Oro" in 2001.
All lamps in the Tress collection seem to be suspended in time, thanks to their design, which is both classic and modern. One element that seems to have been present always, yet is still in being creatively developed. In other words, suspended. Timeless. These lamps are made in a composite material based on coated fibreglass and chrome-plated metal. They have a compact cylindrical structure at the ends which "opens" in the centre, as if the central light source was surrounded by irregular light beams from which the light seems to escape, delicately and mysteriously, to create soffused light in different levels of light and shade and patterns on the walls in linear chromatic effects that are almost reminiscent of those produced by antique Chinese lanterns. From whatever angle one observes the lamps, whether they are hanging lamps, floor lamps, wall or table lamps, they all exude the same "emotional strength", all with a very strong visual impact. They are available in three colours: white, red and black, to suit the modern furnishing style for which they were designed, guaranteeing a brightly lit, cosy atmosphere. The Tress lamp collection is enriched by the "Stilo" model, with its tapered, soft shape. This model is available as a hanging lamp and floor lamp. The cylindrical body of the lamp has the same "slits of light" due to its composition made with "strips". It tapers towards the top (in the hanging lamp) and towards the bottom (in the floor lamp), lending greater impetus to the entire structure. The Tress lamp colleciton will be of great success in any interior and guarantee a touch of class and personality and unique, elegant and intense atmospheres. Last but not least, the LED light bulbs will keep energy consumption and environmental impact down to a minimum. LED technology is in fact ideal especially where lights are frequently switched on and off because they light up quickly and are less prone to problems connected with switching on and off compared to fluorescent lamps. This aspect should not be overlooked in this time of wastage and pollution.
The Gregg lamp collection was created by the design team Ludovica and Roberto Palomba and is produced by Foscarini; it stands out for being highly functional and its superb design that makes this everyday object almost a work of art. The lamps are flexible and soft and fill any space with elegance. They might even be called "stones of light". Their polished, asymmetrically circular shape evokes pebbles made smooth by seawater, and are at the same time as light as a soft, luminous cloud. They are mostly produced in blown glass, with the exception of the "Poly-Gregg / Outdoor Gregg" standing lamp, available also in polyethylene, which makes them suitable for outdoor use, shock-resistant and able to withstand the elements. The Gregg lamps will stir emotions, also thanks to their particular shape that seems to take on an awe-inspiring, amazing vitality, depending on the viewing angle. These contemporary furnishing items can be used for different solutions, both in the home and outdoors. Both the reading lamps and floor lamps have a flexible, slim rod and come in different dimensions.
Gregg table lamp.
The size of the lamp is intensified in this solution that adds a touch of originality and simplicity to any room, almost futuristic, without lacking elegance and good taste. It diffuses the light warmly and evenly while the full shield of the lamp bulb protects any dazzling, allowing the lamp to be positioned at different heights. It is an example of a design object that is destined to becoming a furnishing item in its own right. It is well thought-out and available in three sizes to suit all needs.
Gregg hanging lamps
These lamps are suitable with any modern furnishing style. It is also possible to group several lamps to obtain surprising lighting effects. They can be used to create a "cascade", for example, which will draw the observer's eye to follow the light pattern it creates: a pleasant, relaxing cascade of soffused light.
Gregg ceiling lamps
The ceiling lamps are available in two sizes. Also in this version, the design of these lamps add a touch of charm and personality to any room. They will provide lustre in office environments and create a harmonious combination of useful, efficient lights in the living room, enhancing any style.
When choosing the most suitable Gregg lamp, it is wise to take into account the area to be illuminated as well as the purpose of illumination and the time to be spent in the room. After this, thanks to the adaptability of this design to any modern furnishing style, the choice will depend largely on personal needs.
The Plass collection comprises a large and medium hanging lamp and a medium-sized table lamp. All versions have a highly modern, innovative design, but are at the same time evocative of the past. This makes them suitable for both contemporary and sophisticated furnishing styles but also more traditional interiors. The name Plass is taken from "Plastic" and "Glass". It is inspired by the tradition of glass, through the more modern technology of rotomoulded polycarbonate. This produces irregular shaped finishes and details on the lamp, which are exalted by the light, as with handcrafted glass items. The Plass collection is thus a combination of traditional and modern techniques, which give rise to truly unique items. The shape of Plass lamps resembles squashed, elongated circles reminiscent of the typical Venetian glass beads. Two types of light were the aim of this collection: one to create emotion and a practical light. The first exalts the actual design of the lamp, and thus the any irregularities on the surface, thanks to the internal light source, which illuminates the lower part to create a diffused light; the practical light on the other hand generates a more global illumination, due to the fact that the light bulb is positioned in the central part of the lamp itself. The Plass lamps are available in aquamarine and grey, which are in fact typical of the glass produced in Murano and Venice. The colour also evokes the past and the tradition of the old glass blowers and craftsmen. The lamps are available in two versions: halogen and LED. The Plass collection was also used at the Biennale of Venice, 2012, as well as in numerous luxury hotels throughout Europe. It was designed by Luca Nichetto, born in Venice in 1976. His works are based on the craft traditions of Venice but go beyond this, reaching into the contemporary world, and try to combine these aspects.
The Twiggy colleciton by Foscarini was created by designer Marc Sadler together with the company's own creative team, and is an icon of contemporary design. The first version of this range was launched in 2006 and was inspired by the soft shapes of fishing rods. The research led to the creation of a unique item, thanks to the experiments and use of innovative technology and materials. The Twiggy floor lamp has a unique simplicity and stands out due to the softness of the natural swinging movements of its long rod. It is available in four sizes, with a height ranging from 195/215 cm to 260/280 cm. The diffuser is made from an elaborately processed composite material, which is coated and has linear motifs on its surface. The light beam falls directly below and above the lamp, which is available in several colours: indigo, greige, white, crimson and black. It can be used with halogen light bulbs and is fitted with a dimmer switch for just the right amount light intensity. The curved line that distinguishes all the lamps in the collection is also found in the Twiggy ceiling lamp. The vitality of lamp is expressed by the possibility to rotate the lamp fully, maintaining a height of between 95/105 cm. It is available in two black or white. The luminosity is direct and the lamp can be fitted to take halogen or compact fluorescent bulbs. The Twiggy hanging lamp has a more formal shape and lines that evoke more classic furnishing styles. The rigid vertical support that hooks onto the ceiling is adjustable; including the diffuser, the entire lamp structure can reach a height of 199 cm. This version is also available in black or white and can be fitted with compact fluorescent bulbs or halogen bulbs. The Twiggy reading lamp has a rounded base and stands 160 cm tall. The diffuser is fitted for use with halogen bulbs and also has a dimmer switch. Twiggy XL is the last product in this range of products. The base is in fibreglass and it has a total height of 65 cm. It is ideal for illumination in the living room or bedroom, thanks to the light beam which is directed upwards and the reflections that point downwards. It is fitted with an electronic dimmer, can be used with halogen light bulbs and is available in either white or black. In addition to the colours of the models described in this catalogue, limited productions in a greater number of colours are sometimes produced for these lamps, with an original, lively design by Foscarini.
