OLuce

Oluce is the oldest lighting company still in business. Founded by Giuseppe Ostuni, art master, in 1945.He cooperated with the most famous 1950s architects: Franco Buzzi, Tito Agnoli, Forti, Arnaboldi, Monti and Minale, as well as the Colombo brothers, who interpreted the new residential needs of Milan middle class. In those years, the design the Coupé lamp, exhibited at the New York Moma, which comprises a large curved stand that supports a classy semi-cylindrical spherical ap. In 1968, the Coupé won the “International Design Award” by Chicago American Institute of Interior Designers.

In the 1970s, there is a change of ownership at the company, and for many years, Magistretti will be the company’s art director and main designer, leaving an unmistakeable mark and a world-wide recognizable heritage. The Atollo table lamp he designed - pointlessly mimicked everywhere – won the Compasso D’Oro in 1979, and imposed its graphic silhouette as the only one capable of rendering the “lamp” concept.

Given these premises, the company was bound to continue its cooperation with the most important national and international designers; the continue search for perfection and attention to detail has maintained the design and material quality very high over the years.

Apart from the classic Coupé and Atollo collections, we must mention the Stone collection lamp (indoor and outdoor lamps), the Switch table lamp, with dimmerable lighting, the Sonora lamp, a classic domed table lamp in different finishes and sizes.
