The Claritas floor lamp was first created in 1946 and was the first lighting fixture designed by Vico Magistretti, in collaboration with Mario Tedeschi. It is a true icon of design, now on display in different art museums around the globe, and owes its style and shapes to the period of history to which it belongs. The Claritas floor lamp was created in post-Fascist Milan with the aim of using former armaments industries to produce goods for civilian use. The underlying, basic technology gives Claritas its very simple design, obtained with metallic plates and curved tubes which are then welded together. The current version produced by Nemo mimics the original model, with parts of the structure in chrome-plated brass or varnished, and a diffuser in painted aluminium. The Claritas floor lamp is available in two colour variants, white and black, and works with a halogen light bulb.
