Inga Sempé is one of the most famous and successful designers of this moment. She won the award of Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville in Paris in the design category in 2003. She owes her international fame to a vast number of partnerships she has had with some of the most famous names in architectural and interior design. Amongst these high profile brands that have chosen to produce her creations are the likes of Edra, Cappellini, Mutina, Ligne Roset, Baccarat, David Design, Pallucco, Moustache, Luceplan, Wastberg, Almedhal, Magis and many others. She graduated in industrial design in 1993 at the ENSCI Atelier in Paris, and since then has put into practice what she learned and has never stopped creating and designing objects. She acquired a lot of her experience working alongside professional designers of a high level, such as Andrée Putman and Marc Newson. At the start of 2000, she set up her own design business in Paris. Over 2000 and 2001 she worked in Italy thanks to a scholarship from the Acadèmie de France Villa Medici di Roma. During these years of specialization, she produced her first most famous interior design creations; the pleated standing lamp, manufactured by Cappellini and the Bosse fringed container, manufactured by Edra. In 2014 she branched out with success into the world of ceramics by creating an original range of indoor ceramic tiles, presented by the Mutina brand at Cersaie, at the famous Salone Internationale della Ceramica per l’Architettura e l’Arredodbagno. Inga Sempé’s creations all come from particular attention to everyday living. Lamps, chairs, fabrics, tables and armchairs are all made with a stunning design in a contemporary, modern style. In her numerous creations, with their original shapes and forms, and variety of materials used, all contribute to produce items that are practical, versatile, resistant, lightweight and comfortable. All the right ingredients that, according to the designer, are needed to create objects, furniture and furnishings to make them not only easy on the eye, but that make them extremely suitable for everyday use.
