The French designer Christophe Pillet was born in 1959 and currently lives in Paris, where he works as a designer and planner. He graduated in Nice in 1985 in Decorative Arts, and then in the following year, 1986, became a Master in the Domus Academy. He completed his training in Milan where he opened his own studio in 1991. Here in Milan during 1986 until 1988, he struck up a partnership with Martine Bedin. His development was considerably influenced by the designer Philippe Starck, which allowed him to work in a completely independent way and helped him to become a successful designer in 1993.
In 1994 he won the award of planner of the year. In his past and present career, Christophe Pillet has mainly dealt with interior design with an eye on internal architecture and furniture design. He’s an eclectic, versatile designer of huge success. He has worked with many famous brands such as Trussardi, Daum, Lancome, Bally, Moroso, Driade, Lacoste, Serralunga, Cappellini, Shiseido, Edra, Ecart, and Whirlpool, to name but a few.
His interior design creations have a modern style that is contemporary but minimalist. Simple shapes are a distinguishing factor in many of his creations, made with an eye for detail and extreme care in the choice of high quality materials used, chosen especially for the project of the moment. He designs furniture and contemporary home decorations, and is committed to interior design by producing objects of design and furnishing accessories. He is dedicated to artistic design and architecture itself, in which he has a strong interest in both the technical and structural part of the creations as well as in the overall appearance. Some of the creations from his furniture collection such as the armchair and the table created for Krisalia are an expression of his creativity. There is a simplicity in these forms that require however huge attention to the choice of materials and complex technical processes. They are attractive in their minimalist yet functional style which has earned him a huge amount of success.
