Eric Solé is a designer and architect who was born in Paris in1960. He studied architecture in 1987 at UP1 and as soon as he graduated, opened his studio trax design. Here he dealt with shop furnishings, interior design, villas and urban furnishings (1990). Many of his projects, especially those created in the early years as a designer, were based on a careful and technical selection that followed the basic transformation of materials. Amongst his numerous works and partnerships, one that comes to mind is the one with Megalit, where furniture like Roll Mob interpreted in full the concept of transformation.
In 2005, he started an important partnership with Artemide and designed many furnishing solutions, primarily in the field of illumination. His creations include various furnishings, office lamps, folding chairs and multi-purpose tables. He is a modern designer with a particular interest for light fittings made with innovative new materials to create unusual lamps which are either eclettic (Mesmeri) or essential and minimal (Cabildo hanging lamp and Cabildo floor lamp), and convey a real sense of magic. He has worked on many occasions with well-known brands of industrial design. Eric Solé focuses on innovation and painstaking research of the materials he uses in his contemporary, genial new ideas and his own unique style.
